Dr Cheryl Forsyth

Cheryl graduated with a Psychology degree from Bangor University in 2011, further  
developing her knowledge with an MSc in Developmental from the University of
Lincoln in 2015. Cheryl has worked across education and social care settings, supporting the
needs of vulnerable adults and children with special educational needs and disabilities
(SEND) through a number of roles. Alongside this, Cheryl gained experience through
volunteering with Samaritans and a local youth project.
Cheryl completed the Doctorate in Applied Educational Psychology at the University of
Nottingham in 2019. Cheryl’s doctoral thesis explored the educational experiences of pupils
newly arrived to the UK. Cheryl has since continued working across local authority
educational psychology services across Yorkshire before moving to Kirklees in 2022. Shortly
after, Cheryl completed the three-day training in Therapeutic Story Writing Groups, before
becoming an accredited trainer.
