Virtual Training in Therapeutic Storywriting and Story Links
Are you looking to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing while also developing their academic skills? Our Therapeutic Storywriting and Story Links interventions have an extensive research base that shows they achieve both these targets.
Therapeutic Storywriting groups develop writing skills while the parent-partnership Story Links intervention focuses on pupils’ reading skills. Both are proven to support emotional and social well-being.The trainings are practise-based and professionals are expected to start the intervention after Day 1 of the training.
All courses are delivered by CTSW Accredited Trainers and training groups limited to 12 participants.

Developing Emotional Wellbeing while Improving Writing Skills
Therapeutic Storywriting Groups use storywriting to support pupils whose behavioural and emotional difficulties are getting in the way of their learning.Research shows that Therapeutic Storywriting Groups improve pupils’ writing skills while developing their emotional and social skills.
Target group: SENCOs, SEN teachers, Learning Mentors, HLTAs & TAs supporting pupils aged 7-12 yrs
Participants will be expected to set up a group after Day 1 and then to bring pupils stories to the trainings on Days 2 & 3. Groups should have between 4-6 pupils. This is a 10-week intervention supported by an online training manual with downloadable resources. Watch video.

Working with Parents of Vulnerable Pupils
Story Links is an evidence-based intervention that involves parents in supporting vulnerable pupils through joint story-making. Research shows that Story Links improves behaviour in school, increases parental involvement and develops pupils’ reading skills.Target group: SENCOs, Behaviour Intervention Teams, Educational Psychology services, LAC services and other professionals supporting vulnerable pupils at KS1&2.
Participants will be expected to set up a Story Links group after Day 1 and then to bring case studies to the trainings on Days 2 & 3. It is a 10-week intervention and is supported by an online training manual with downloadable resources. View video.
